7th Graders who have not signed up for next year's trip to Washington DC there will be informational meeting on Tuesday, April 7, 2026 in Mrs. Morsaw's classroom at 7:00 pm. We will go over what the trip includes, when the trip is taking place, fundraising for the trip and answer any questions you have. Please use the QR code on the attached flyers to RSVP to the meeting. This will be the last informational meeting we are having for the 2027 trip this year. If you have already signed up for the 2027 trip you DO NOT need to come to this meeting.


There will be no school tomorrow, Friday March 27th, as we begin Spring Break! We hope you have a fun and safe break. We look forward to seeing you when we return on Monday, April 6th. ☀️

Mrs. Stacy Thiele is our new Interim Assistant Principal at Redwood Elementary effective April 6th. Stacy is a veteran teacher with 22 years of experience K-12. She graduated from GVSU in 2004 and taught Spanish and Health Education for 18 years. She received her master’s from GVSU in ESL in 2010 and in 2022 received her administrator certification also from GVSU. Mrs. Thiele has worked at Hartford since August of 2022. In her time at HPS, she has served the district as the MS/HS ESL teacher, the 6-12 Curriculum Coordinator, and most recently has been serving as the K-12 Migrant/ESL Coordinator and K-5 Multilingual Instructional Coach. She is very excited and honored to continue serving the Hartford community as Interim Assistant Principal.

This past Saturday, on March 21st, 19 Hartford Huskies traveled to WMU to compete in the Regional Science Olympiad Competition against 20+ area teams. All participants did their best and Mr. Thiele and Mr. Morsaw appreciated all your hard work for these past months. We want to thank our seniors for all their time they have put in the Science Olympiad for the past 7 years in middle and high school. Our 2026 seniors were Alexander Morsaw, Weston Pitcher, Isaiah Lovell, and Joel Garcia. We wish all our seniors good luck in their future endeavors and the work they did for the Science Department and the Hartford community.
The following Hartford Huskies received medals/ribbons for their efforts:
5th place finishers in Boomilever were Joel Garcia and Josais Robles
6th place finishers in Boomilever were Carlie Sullivan and Pablo Rodriguez
8th place finishers in Electric Vehicle were Alex Morsaw and Isaiah Lovell
4th place finishers in Hovercraft were Alex Morsaw and Isaiah Lovell
8th place finishers in Machines were Isaiah Lovell and Josais Robles
7th place finishers in Robot Tour were Josais Robles and Joel Garcia
Thanks to all of our competitors once again for their hard work this year. We finished 10th out of 28 teams and missed qualifying for the state tournament by one place. We look forward to working with the underclassmen next year and seniors thanks for the past 4 years and graduation is just around the corner!

On Monday, March 16th, the Hartford School Board recognized the following three high school students for helping with an emergency situation during one of our spring sports practices. Each student received a certificate of recognition from Superintendent Blackmer and the Board of Education thanked them for their fast response and help. Wonderful job Ti'onna Maeder, Esmeralda Garcia, and Elizabeth Manning.

The first day of open Pre-Registration for new Kindergarteners for the 2026-2027 school year will be taking place Thursday, March 19th, 4-7PM in the Redwood Elementary office.
Additional Pre-Registration dates are on March 24th and April 9th from 4-7PM in the Redwood Elementary office. We can't wait to meet our new Little Huskies! 🐾💚
