Informational Meeting for Washington DC:
There will be an informational meeting on September 3, 2025 at 7:30 pm in the auditorium for ANY middle school student (6th, 7th, or 8th grade) and parent(s)/caregiver(s) who are interested in attending Washington DC in their 8th grade year.. A community can be defined by an area or by a common characteristic. The Southwest 10 Athletic Conference is looking to promote and support both. The Athletic Directors of the Southwest 10 are encouraging our communities to make a donation to the Make-A-Wish foundation to help create life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses. Being able to grant a wish not only helps and transform the life of a child, but the family and community in which they live.

The Southwest 10 Athletic Conference is asking for your support in donating to this worthy cause. By scanning and donating, you are making a commitment to be a part of a community that can and will make a difference. These signs with QR codes will be posted at HPS athletic facilities.

A letter from the HPS Medical Team:

Dear Hartford Family,
As we look ahead to the 2025-2026 school year, we want to ensure all our students with medical needs are well-supported.
If your child will be attending Hartford Public Schools, and has a medical condition that requires care or medication during school hours, we need your help. The district requires specific forms to be completed. These include the medical release form, medication authorization forms, and medical management plans, which must be signed by your child's physician and dated after July 1st, 2025. Medical management plans are more in depth instructions that pertain to a specific condition.

Conditions that often require medical management plans include:
Asthma
Life-threatening allergies (anaphylaxis), including food allergies
Seizures
Diabetes

If your child has one or more of these conditions, please go to the school’s webpage to print the appropriate forms and take these to your child’s doctor for completion.
Please remember: We cannot give medication or make changes to food service for your child at school without written permission from both you and their medical provider (emergency situations are an exception).

Students may be dropped off at Woodside Drive entrance, Door 5

Normal Arrival starting at 7:45 am
K-2 students are dropped off at Spaulding Street entrance
3-5 students are dropped off at Woodside Drive entrance
(if you have students in both grade levels, they will be dropped off at Woodside Drive loop)
Students arriving late must be signed into the office by an adult.

School starts at: 8:00am
School dismisses at : 3:00 pm

Dismissal :
K- 2 students are dismissed off Spaulding Street entrance
3-5 students are dismissed off Woodside Drive Entrance
(if you have students in both grade levels, they will all exit through Woodside Drive loop)
Changes to dismissal must be made prior to 2:00 each day.

August/September Lunch Menus 🍽

Middle School Football Cheer begins Monday 3:30-5:30. Be sure to have physicals/final forms on file. We will meet in the auditorium, if you need to wait at the school until practice starts you can join the Varsity at 3 in the auditorium. Go Huskies!

Hartford Back to School Bash is going on RIGHT NOW! Stop by to kick off the 25-26 school year! In the HS gym and HS Football practice field!

Middle School Soccer practice today has been changed to an open play from 6-7:30pm.

The Hartford Public Schools Open House is Tomorrow, Tuesday, August 19th from 3:30-6PM! All buildings will be open for parents and students to meet the teachers and get prepped for the upcoming school year. We hope to see you there! 💚

Alternative Education and Adult students, please stop by during the Open House from 3:30-6pm tomorrow, or at the Alternative Ed. table during the Back to School Bash from 5-7pm on Wednesday to fill out your paperwork.

Estudiantes de Educación Alternativa y adultos, por favor pasen por la jornada de puertas abiertas de 3:30 a 6:00 p. m. mañana, o por la mesa de Educación Alternativa durante la Fiesta de Regreso a Clases de 5:00 a 7:00 p. m. el miércoles para completar su documentación.

You do not need a physical for middle school soccer open play. You will need Final Forms to be completed and have physical by Monday, August 18th if you are planning on starting practice on that day.

High school volleyball practice has been moved to the high school gym from 6-8 pm. Nobody is allowed to enter or park in front of the school, due to construction. Please enter through the back of the school as well as park by the back football field (in bus parking area)

Senior-Athletes,
Banner pictures will be August 18th @ 2pm in the Alternative Education.
Please enter through those doors, you can not walk through the High School building.
Please have the attached form filled out prior to taking your picture.
