Amy Klein, 4th grade teacher at Redwood, was awarded a Midwest Energy and Communications Strengthening schools grant in the amount of $1,678.00. The grant will provide a 154 book SEL (Social and Emotional Learning) Library for staff to check out, and use as interactive read alouds. These books will be available for staff to check out on a weekly basis.
This special library collection can be used to teach self awareness, self management, social awareness, relationship skill, and responsible decision making. This will be a great toolbox to use as Redwood Staff continues to strengthen our relationships with students and families, through the Capturing Kids' Heart Model. A big thank you to Midwest Energy and Communication for investing in our youth, as they are the future leaders of our world!
