Hartford Middle School Reading Challenge Incentive Day is coming up on March 20th! Students who read 400 minutes at home this month earn an afternoon of rewards!

Hartford Public Schools is pleased to announce this year's winners of the Educational Hero Awards: Middle School Math Teacher Lindsay Blackmer and Middle School Secretary Nora Aguirre.
The Educational Hero Awards Banquet was held on Tuesday at the Van Buren Intermediate School District, where Blackmer and Aguirre were both recognized and presented with their awards.
Education Heroes from the other Van Buren County school districts were also recognized.
Nora Aguirre - She was selected for her commitment to HPS, extraordinary work ethic, and value she brings to the entire district. She has been the glue that has held the office together through several administrative changes, is the first person people see when entering the building and is the only building secretary that works solo. She is also highly respected among all other secretaries and building admin regarding her collaboration among the buildings.
Lindsay Blackmer - Middle School Principal, Darren Tyria, pointed out how Lindsay does before school tutoring, is on the building leadership team, gives up her planning to work the success center, does lunch detention and also coaches three sports. Most recently, Blackmer coached varsity girls basketball when we did not have many applicants. She has also been with the district for nearly 22 years.
At Hartford Public Schools, we are proud to have such great candidates, employees and winners of the award.
